Popeyes Has a New Saucy Chicken Sandwich

A new chicken sandwich option doused with Popeyes’ distinctive hot sauce went into trial just last month. As the chain introduces a new spicy variation on its signature chicken sandwich, fans have even more to look forward to.

On May 7, Popeyes introduced their new Golden BBQ Chicken Sandwich, a 620-calorie chicken breast that is buttermilk-battered. It is served on a buttery, toasted brioche bun with barrel-cured pickles and a sweet and tangy Golden BBQ sauce.

Havarti cheese and Applewood smoked bacon are available as toppings for customers who want their sandwiches with even more taste.

“We wanted to create something that reminds our guests why they should love lunchtime,” stated Chef Amy Alarcon, VP of culinary innovation at Popeyes. For a lunchtime treat that’s sure to please, try the Golden BBQ Chicken Sandwich.

It’s the ideal choice for individuals who want a flavorful combination of sweet and tangy flavors. It’s all about adding some spice to the table (or workstation, if you want) and a dash of happiness.

So, from now until June 30th, the restaurant is running a promotion in the hopes that customers will give the new Golden BBQ Chicken Sandwich a try.

Customers in the US who are rewards members and spend $10 or more at participating Popeyes will be eligible to receive 600 bonus points, which can be turned into a free chicken sandwich. To promote the new menu item, Popeyes collaborated with the New Orleans hip-hop duo SaxKixAve to create a new version of the song “Bring Back Lunch.”

Popeyes’ menu has recently expanded to include some mouth-watering new items, such as spicy chicken and barbecue sandwiches. A six-pack of the chain’s limited-edition Honey Lemon Pepper chicken wings, which had hints of honey sweetness, tart lemon, and black pepper, had 1,304 calories.

The wings were debuted in March. Popeyes’ five other wing varieties, including Honey BBQ (880 calories), Roasted Garlic Parmesan (1,040 calories), Signature Hot (1,190 calories), Ghost Pepper (680 calories), and Sweet ‘N Spicy (910 calories), are still available right now.

In addition to the 980 calorie Loaded Buffalo Poutine and 610 calorie Buffalo Crispy Chicken Wrap, Popeyes introduced two additional items in April. Tender chicken, spicy buffalo sauce, crisp lettuce, and juicy tomato make up this wrap.

Popeyes’ Cajun Fries serve as the base for the new poutine, which also includes buffalo-flavored crispy nuggets, fresh cheese curds, gravy, and a bed of fries. These new items are only available in Canada, which is a bummer for Popeyes aficionados in the US.
