McDonald’s devotees, take heart! A long-awaited return to Mickey D’s menu of one of their most beloved limited-edition items—an item that is only available at specific times of the year—has finally occurred.
On March 25, participating markets across the United States saw the reintroduction of McDonald’s beloved Spicy Chicken McNuggets, which had 490 calories per 10-piece order. The reappearance of the nuggets has been officially announced by McDonald’s USA in a statement, although customers were originally alerted by food blogger Snackolator in an Instagram post earlier this week.
In some areas, our Spicy Chicken McNuggets are making a triumphant comeback to the menu, so all you spicy food lovers out there may rejoice. They add a spicy twist to the beloved McNuggets, coated in a crunchy tempura batter and seasoned with a blend of chili peppers and cayenne. “Participating restaurants will have the Spicy Chicken McNuggets available starting March 25 for a limited time,” the statement added.
Many happy McDonald’s customers have taken to social media to rejoice at the reappearance of the Spicy Chicken McNuggets, which they have noticed on menus.
“Here we go again with the spicy nuggets. This is going to drain my bank account, one admirer wrote on X, the old Twitter.
“Love when they bring the spicy nuggets back at McDonald’s,” a third wrote.
Spicy nuggets were an instant popularity when they arrived at McDonald’s in 2020. Actually, just a few weeks after its first release, McDonald’s outlets ran out of stock of these hot little nibbles due to the tremendous demand.
A large number of McDonald’s customers have demanded that Spicy Chicken McNuggets be permanently added to the menu. Despite their initial success, the chain has only made limited returns of them on multiple occasions since they debuted, most recently in the fall of 2018.
During their current limited run, the nuggets will be offered in several markets, including San Francisco, Chicago, Philadelphia, and New York City. Customers in other regions should call ahead to their neighborhood McDonald’s to see if they have them before you go.
This week, McDonald’s announced a lot of great things, including the reintroduction of the Spicy Chicken McNuggets. Also, following up on a prior collaboration in which some McDonald’s shops in Kentucky sold fresh Krispy Kreme doughnuts, the chain has just announced that it will begin selling the doughnuts at participating locations across the country.
Later in 2024, McDonald’s will start distributing the doughnuts to its restaurants. By the end of 2026, the chain hopes to have them available nationwide. Original Glazed Doughnuts (190 calories), Chocolate Iced with Sprinkles (250 calories), and Chocolate Iced Kreme Filled Doughnuts (350 calories) are the three popular Krispy Kreme doughnut flavors that will be available.
