Fast-food establishments are increasingly opting to enhance the spiciness of chicken nuggets as a method of innovation. Wendy’s menu has Spicy Nuggets as a popular staple, whilst McDonald’s has provided Spicy Chicken McNuggets as a seasonal favorite since 2020. Burger King is introducing its variant named Fiery Nuggets, along with a new beverage to provide customers with relief.
The Fiery Nuggets, featuring a fiery coating, will be offered at select restaurants nationwide from June 19 to August 17. Burger King has previously provided spicy variants of its traditional chicken nuggets and Chicken Fries.
According to USA Today, the chain introduced Ghost Pepper Chicken Nuggets at restaurants around the nation for a limited duration in 2021. In March, Burger King introduced a limited edition spicy variant of its Chicken Fries.
Customers initially encountered the Fiery Nuggets on the menu in the Chicago region in November 2022, according to Chew Boom—likely a limited test phase prior to its nationwide introduction at Burger King next week.
Chad Brauze, senior director of culinary innovation and sustainability for Burger King North America, stated, “Heat is currently trending, making it an opportune moment to launch the Fiery Nuggets with the beloved spicy glaze.” “Coated with cayenne peppers, bird’s eye chili, and black pepper, the new nuggets offer an ideal blend of flavor and heat.”
Burger King is launching a new limited-time $1 Frozen Fanta Kickin’ Mango to accompany its hot menu item. The beverage amalgamates mango and citrus notes with a hint of hot chili flavor.
Dane Callis, senior brand manager for Fanta North America, stated, “The Fiery Nuggets required a complementary flavor, thus we are pleased to unveil this limited-edition Frozen Fanta flavor exclusively at Burger King restaurants, which simultaneously cools and enhances the heat.”
“Our Frozen Fanta Kickin’ Mango delivers a vibrant amalgamation of bold mango, citrus, and chili flavors, providing a refreshing, tingling sensation with a spicy conclusion that embodies the essence of summer grilling.”
In recent Burger King developments, the restaurant has introduced a limited-time “Spider-Verse” Whopper featuring a red bun and a “Spider-Verse” Sundae, commencing in May to commemorate the premiere of the film Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.
Burger King introduced two new blended ice cream desserts this month; but, regrettably for U.S. consumers, they are exclusively available in Canada.
