Butterfinger Is Releasing Its First New Flavor in 10 Years

Over the course of its century-long existence, the Butterfinger brand has seen numerous transformations. Butterfinger Crisp bars, Peanut Butter Cups, Butterfinger BBs, and even Baking Bits, which let you to bake Butterfinger cookies or cake without the trouble of chopping, were among the many items that came out of the company’s recipe reformulation and several ownership changes.

Ferrero, the confectionery business, is shaking things up six years after acquiring Butterfinger by releasing a new flavor of the iconic candy bar.

A Novel Salted Caramel Bar from Butterfinger

April 2025 is when we might expect to see the debut of the Salted Caramel Butterfinger. Ferrero claims this is the first innovation at the bars in ten years. Butterfingers aficionados can expect the same delicious peanut butter flavor in the new bars, but instead of a chocolate covering, they’ll get a caramel flavor.

“This is 100% real and I need a case immediately.” @snackolator captioned an Instagram post that included the candy’s packaging.

The comment section was a hive of activity as fans of the sweets expressed their elation. It sounds delicious, and I can’t wait to try salted caramel with Butterfingers. “It seems like a perfect fit!!” someone else wrote.

“Oh, my goodness,” another supporter exclaimed. I love both of these things! Without further ado, I adore Butterfingers. Every Halloween, I even go to battle for the privilege of eating my own children’s Butterfingers. Plus, caramel is one of my favorite foods, so this really brightened my day.

However, the news did not go down well with everyone. Many consumers have expressed their dissatisfaction with the 2019 formula change and have pleaded with the company to bring back the old flavor of the candy.

“Why don’t we have the classic Butterfinger bars made again?” The substitute bars are devoid of any taste and quite dry. The buttery sweetness and crisp texture are noticeably absent. The new ones smelled awful when I tried them. A commenter regretted trying them and never did so again.

We can only pray that the salted caramel candy bar can rekindle the fires of nostalgia for the original recipe that so many have burned out. Be on the lookout for the April limited edition of Butterfinger Salted Caramel; it won’t be around for long.
