With their latest burger, Chili’s is aiming to take on rival fast food chains by emphasizing value. And the world-famous Big Mac is going up against this one.
The new Big Smasher Burger, which contains 950 calories and twice the amount of beef of a Big Mac (590 calories), was launched yesterday by the restaurant company. As an example, 3.2 ounces is the weight that Chili’s reports for a pre-cooked Big Mac patty. The introduction of this new menu item is the first burger innovation by the restaurant chain in three years.
American cheese, sliced red onions, lettuce, pickles, Thousand Island dressing, and a nearly half-pound hand-smashed burger patty are some of the new ingredients in the Big Smasher Burger. While both the new Chili’s burger and the Big Mac share many similarities, the former features a sesame seed bun while the latter features an extra bun in the burger’s center.
As an affordable option, Chili’s new Big Smasher Burger is available on the Chili’s 3 for Me menu. Customers may purchase the new burger, fries, and an unlimited non-alcoholic drink for $10.99. The bargain also includes chips and salsa. Individual servings of the burger are also available for customers to order.
New items have arrived on Chili’s 3 for Me menu, and the Big Smasher Burger is only one of them. A new Crispy Chicken Sandwich was also introduced by the restaurant company.
Served on a brioche bun, this dish features crispy chicken that has been hand-breaded with mayonnaise and pickles. Prices for the Chili’s 3 for Me Menu, which debuted in 2022 and features meals starting at $10.99, have remained unchanged ever since.
Despite no changes to the number or quality of fast food combo meals, Chili’s chief marketing officer George Felix claimed in a news statement that diners are experiencing sticker shock from the increased cost of fast food.
The all-new Big Smasher burger is an improvement above Chili’s 3 for Me, which we already thought was the best value of any drive-thru. In our opinion, our customers can always expect higher quality, more affordable prices, and an improved overall experience.
Three new TV and digital ads promoting Chili’s 3 for Me burger have gone live, showcasing the burger’s value in comparison to other fast food options. On top of that, the restaurant business is involving its customers in a contest that asks X users (previously Twitter) to explain why Chili’s is superior to fast food.
By May 2nd, participants can submit their answers using the hashtag #Chilis3ForMeRescue with the event hashtag. The winners will receive a gift card from the food chain, which is enough to pay for a $10.99 Chili’s 3 for Me dinner.
