It’s official: fast food enthusiasts have decided which American business serves the finest fried chicken in 2024. Even though you might think a nationally recognized brand like Chick-fil-A would win, the winner this year is a regional powerhouse with a significantly smaller footprint.
On July 17, USA Today released its 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards, which allowed readers to see which fast food chains and restaurants were the most beloved in 2024. Each year, editors and fast food specialists vote for their favorite fast food items and chains to be honored at the ceremony.
Nominations include the greatest fast food burger, fried chicken, fries, and overall chain. After that, readers of USA Today will vote for the winners.
When it comes to fast food chains serving the greatest fried chicken, Jollibee takes home the trophy this year.
Considering how tough the competition is from other big chicken franchises, this is quite an accomplishment for Jollibee. For instance, with over 3,000 outlets in the US, PR, and Canada, Chick-fil-A is the biggest chicken chain in the US by sales.
Popeyes, another behemoth in the chicken industry, has been steadily expanding its footprint and had over 3,000 outlets in the US by the end of last year.
Jollibee has over 1,500 locations worldwide, with the most majority of those being in the Philippines. However, just 100 of those locations are located in North America. But the most recent 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards show that the brand is becoming popular and beloved across the continent.
Burgers, tropical handheld pies, sweet spaghetti, chicken sandwiches, and the bone-in Chickenjoy Fried Chicken with delicious sauce are the specialties of Jollibee, a fast food chain that originated in the Philippines.
Jollibee is the world’s largest and fastest-growing chain of Asian restaurants, with over 1,500 locations worldwide including 100 locations in the Americas. Their unique juicy and tasty fried chicken, Chickenjoy, is their most famous dish. “Get it in buckets or with sides—and dip it in their silky gravy,” said the 10Best editors of USA Today.
Excitingly progressing In 2024, Pollo Campero was ranked #2 for best fast-food fried chicken. As for the remaining nine, they were as follows: Guthrie’s Chicken, Huey Magoo’s Chicken Tenders, Popeyes, Golden Chick, Chick-fil-A, Krispy Krunchy Chicken, Lee’s Famous Recipe Chicken, and Bojangles.
