This year, the food court at Costco has experienced a number of changes, the majority of which have been good news for customers. These changes include the return of the popular sliced onions and the launch of the hugely popular new strawberry ice cream.
Now, there are rumors that another significant transition is going to take place, and some people believe that it is long overdue.
One of the customers that frequents Costco turned to Reddit this week to discuss a report that they had heard concerning the food court. It has been reported by the shopper’s brother, who is employed at Costco, that the business intends to eliminate its food court churro and replace it with another sweet delicacy.
“My brother, who is a Costco employee, just told me that the food court’s churros will soon be replaced by cookies. It’s unclear what kind of cookies they are. When I asked him if they would be comparable to the ones that were in the bakery, he did not have a lot of information to share with me.
According to the shopper’s message, “I was wondering if anyone else had heard this rumor or had seen signs of this happening already.”
On closer inspection, it becomes clear that this particular Costco customer is not the only one who is aware of this purported modification. One more user on Reddit, who asserted that they had access to confidential information regarding the matter, provided support for the rumors in the comments area.
“You are correct. According to the Reddit user who authored the post, “They have found a company to make the cookies, and agreements have been finalized.”
It has been reported by a user on Reddit that the newly introduced cookies for the food court would be available for purchase at the beginning of the following year. In addition, they asserted that Costco intends to incorporate chocolate ice cream into the menu of the food court before the summer of the next year arrives.
Given that Costco has not directly validated these statements, customers should take them with a grain of salt when making purchases from the retailer. Our inquiries for confirmation that the churro will be withdrawn were not immediately met with a response from the warehouse club, which rarely makes comments on rumors of changes of this nature.
In spite of the fact that the story has not been substantiated, a great number of customers were enthusiastic about the possibility of a change in the food court. Costco temporarily pulled the churros from the menu in the year 2020, despite the fact that they had previously been a popular favorite among the sweet treats offered at the warehouse club.
The merchant redesigned the churros and brought them back the following year; however, the members reported that they did not enjoy the new version. They described the new churros as being excessively dry, bready, and lacking in flavor compared to the previous version.
Considering that Costco may be discontinuing the churro, customers are holding out hope that the cookies that are rumored to be replacing it would be of a significantly higher quality.
