Pizza Hut Is Launching a Very Interesting Cheeseburger

A new level of portability is on the way for your next Pizza Hut order. Pizza Hut has introduced a new burger dubbed the Cheeseburger Melt, which is a surprising crossover.

The official statement from the chain states that this pizza-inspired sandwich begins with thin-crust bread that is parmesan-crusted. Then, beef, bacon, onions, mozzarella, and cheddar are folded into the bread. On the side, you’ll get a dab of the chain’s signature Burger Sauce.

A new entrance point for the pizza company, the new dish is a little bit pizza and a little bit cheeseburger. French fries and a drink are essential accompaniments to each cheeseburger meal.

Pizza Hut already considered that, so there’s no need to fear. The new burger may be yours when you order the My Hut Box combo, which also includes fries, wings, and a drink. The My Hut Box and the Cheeseburger Melt both begin at $6.99.

The press release states that on May 14, Pizza Hut will give away free cheeseburgers to customers who are prepared to go from their preferred burger chain in order to promote the new meal.

So, in order to get a free Cheeseburger Melt and drink combo (while supplies last), all you have to do is scan the QR code if you happen to see one of the restaurant’s delivery drivers seated in a drive-thru at a fast-food burger chain in Chicago or Miami.

If you’re having second thoughts about this strange fast food merger of burgers and pizza, it could be because you’re thinking about that time McDonald’s attempted to sell pizza. Indeed, the burger behemoth did dabble in pizza in 1989, but that was a short-lived venture.

The pizza, which looks delicious!, was only available after 4 p.m., according to a vintage Mickey D’s commercial from the late 1980s.

That completely disregards the lunchtime audience! In addition, the pizzas were made to order, which added extra time to the process and caused them to be removed from the menu nearly as soon as they came. Most people nowadays can’t even recall the existence of McDonald’s pizzas.

After all, Pizza Hut isn’t putting in nearly as much effort into manufacturing the Cheeseburger Melts, so the reverse crossover should be easier to implement. These portable pizza makers look a lot like Papa John’s Papadia, another popular item on the menu at that other pizza joint.

According to a press statement from Pizza Hut’s chief marketing officer Lindsay Morgan, the company’s foray into burgers is a thrilling first for us as a brand known for great pizzas.

To start off our burger adventure, we decided to do something daring. For all you burger enthusiasts out there, that’s why our new Cheeseburger Melt is causing a stir in drive-thrus owned by burger chains.

If you’re not a fan of cheeseburgers, Pizza Hut has four other handheld pizzas to choose from: Buffalo Chicken, Pepperoni Lover’s, Meat Lover’s, and Chicken Bacon Parmesan. Each comes with a different dipping sauce: ranch, buffalo, marinara, or chicken.
